Do you have any of these symptoms?


When clients join our Signature Nutrition Coaching program, they are feeling a bit off. They've been dieting for year, trying to lose weight and have a healthier lifestyle. They've worked hard at getting rid of "bad things" on their plate and focus on more balanced meals. But, usually in this process, they cut back their intakes drastically. Then cut back again, again and again.


Overeating does cause weight gain, when you eat more than you burn, your body will store it for use later on. You body knows exactly how much it needs each day and throughout time, we tend to condition ourselves into overeating by pushing ourselves beyond the point of fullness.


Dieting teaches us to cut back our intakes to 1000 calories or less and that all foods you enjoy are off limits, which we know is not true. When we have been cutting our intake for years, changes happen to our bodies to keep up alive. We don't die because we haven't eaten enough one day, our bodies adapt.


If you've been trying to lose weight for years and struggling, reflect on how you're feeling. Do you feel any of these symptoms?


  • Lack of consistent energy levels throughout the day

  • Incosistent bowel habits, constipation and diarrhea

  • Bloating

  • Lack of hunger cues

  • Sleep does not feel restful

  • Increase in anxiety

  • Low libido

  • Lack of focus

  • Fixation on food

  • Guilt around eating "bad" foods

All of these things are results from being in an energy deficit for an extended period of time. Along with undereating most days, you probably also find yourself overeating on the weekends or in social situations where you feel like you can't control yourself.


Restriction further is not the answer.


We have to build back your nutrition and intake from the ground up. Teach you how you can incorporate ice cream throughout the summer and achieve your goals. Take away the "bad" foods list and start listening to your body.


We need to learn how to eat for life, bring our metabolism back to normal levels and learn how to be in a deficit without depriving yourself.
